Patrick had a rare weekend off, so we ventured upstate to New Paltz, New York & visited Mohonk Mountain. It's an old resort where you can go for the day or stay overnight. We had lunch at the resort (BBQ buffet, aka Patrick heaven) and then got to hike around the grounds.

We climbed to the top of the mountain & this is a view of the resort. The mountains in the background are the Catskills.

Afterwards, we took a rowboat out on the lake. Patrick was a good little skipper. The lake was incredibly clear & was 40+ feet deep at the edge! On the pier we fed some of the biggest rainbow trout either of us had ever seen. We had little pellets to feed them with and the fish actually came right up to the surface to eat them. It was so interesting to see them up close like that.

We can't resist the do-it-yourself photo-ops.

There are over 50 little gazebos like this one around the lake, which was good because I got winded at least that many times. As you can see it was a beautiful day & we had a great time.
