This morning Katelyn was busily making me gumdrops for dinner at her table. Here are a few of our interactions:
K: Makin gumdrops for yoooou. You sit here Mommy?
B: You want me to sit in this chair?
K: Ya sure.
B: Would you like a spoon to stir that with?
K: Ya sure.
B: Oooh! These gumdrops are yummy!
K: Ya sure!
K: I make dinner.
K:Ya. Sure.
K:I makin gumdrops and potatoes and...Ya Sure!

Ya, sure da granmama says dat's our girl straight from the U.P. or Fargo. Funny how Scandanavia outs itself even in Manhattan, even in those with absolutely no Scandanavian heritage. Lutefisk and braids are next.
