Dear Mom,
Happy Mother's Day! Thank you for all the nights you awoke to "Moooom! Mom. Mommmm!" from across the hall, all the diapers you washed out, dinners you made, skinned knees you kissed and broken hearts you mended. For standing at the sink singing "Rags to Riches" on countless afternoons while your lazy children watched television, for the hours you froze in high school bleachers cheering the loudest, even when we came in last, thank you. For lunch boxes full of sandwiches and treats, volunteering at ice cream socials and carpooling to Girl Scouts, for keeping me inside to work on my homework and helping me even when I waited until the last minute to make my science fair projects, thank you. For always answering my absurd questions with a patient response and coming to my rescue, keeping me entertained for four long and boring days in the hospital. Thank you. And especially, for that one time you stuck the pear core up your nose. Thank you, Mom. I love you.
Love,
Betsy
